Managing your inventory through Salesforce

Nov 21, 2014 | Admin, Latest News, Manufacturing, Sales Cloud

When you’re running a business through a warehouse, it can be a challenge to keep track of everything that’s stored there. It can be even more of a challenge to integrate your inventory through Salesforce in order to properly keep track of your business. Fortunately, there are a few tools available that can help you with inventory and Salesforce concerns.

TopShelf

This tool is web based and it allows you to manage all of the transactions that occur between all of your different warehouses and everything happening through the supply chain. In particular, you can have yourself or your employees use the barcode scanning technology on smartphones in order to scan everything in and keep it organized.

Once you scan something in, or once a transaction occurs, the tool can make it come up instantly on all devices connected to it through Salesforce. You can make order purchases, do invoicing and fill orders all through your smart phone.

The tool can even help you create barcode labels with the right equipment so you can instantly tag everything so you know what it is, where it’s going, and when it’s no longer in inventory.

Rio Inventory

Rio is a free tool that can help you manage your inventory in two different ways. Firstly it can help you with the basic daily task of keeping track of your inventory. This functionality is completely free to use. But, the tool can also help with more advanced management systems such as managing more than one warehouse at once. This you have to actually pay for, however. But some of the extra features could make it worth it to some.

For example, one of the extra things that the program can do is send you alerts when your inventory is below a certain threshold. You can also look at your product quantity in the Opportunities section of Salesforce.
